A forum for sharing together in the best life has to offer, for anyone who has an eye for design, wants to live a little more green, loves pink and green and lilly pulitzer, makes lemonade out of lemons, life in full color, summers in new england, and fun in nations capital.
The season for giving is upon us! But as we ponder and give thanks for our relative abundance, please consider 'Spend (ing) (at least a portion of) it Making a World of Difference' at Hydrex Philanthropic, an innovative philanthropic initiative I started with Darcy Creech. The idea is all about aligning consumer purchasing power with building water wells in Africa, giving access to clean water to those who have nothing. View our video:
OUR MONEY HAS POWER.How much power? Well, consider this:
Solving the worlds contaminated drinking water crisis will cost an estimated $20billion.That may sound like a lot, but Americans spent more than $50Billion over Black Friday weekend and another $450BIllion for Christmas.
Rather than spending money on "stuff" will soon be used up, broken, or forgotten, how about making a world of difference?
Given the choice between dying of thirst and drinking deadly water, 5000 children under age 5 die everyday from illnesses caused by ingesting contaminated water.
Every $30 you spend here will provide access to clean drinking water for one person for a lifetime, and $500 will provide access to 25 people for a lifetime.
Rather than being consumed by consumption, I hope you will join me in 'making a world of difference' for those who are much less fortunate. Buy a Hydrex wristband! Just one wristband for $30 will provide access to clean drinking water for one person for a lifetime, and $500 will provide access to 25 people for a lifetime. Check us our project out on Facebook!
$60,000 will change the lives of 3000 people in Kituii, Narobi Kenya. Access to clean drinking water is a critical step in breaking the cycle of poverty, ending injustice, and preventing death.100% of your dollars will support programs that bring clean drinking water to underserved communites. The minimum contribution is $20 and there is no maximum allowance, so please spend generously! This pledge drive ends on December 24, 2012 at midnight.
It's Time to Shop, for Change.
Thank you so much for supporting this very important cause!! I truly appreciate it!
Because the goal is within reach.
Because love is a verb.
And because YOU are the answer.
With gratitude,
