DETAILS:

Cupcakes and Cocktails to be served all day (the store opens at 10am so head over as early as you like). The Martha taping officially starts at 10am and takes a little over an hour. So I would say everyone coming from the show will get there closer to 11:30am. The design team should also arrive after the show as I hear they will be involved with the taping. There will be demonstrations all day with the print design team (this is NOT to be missed- I have seen their studio and these people are AMAZING!!) and numerous Lilly Pulitzer corporate team members will also be at the store to celebrate. Live it up and make it a Lilly day! After Martha we will all be inspired to acquire more Lilly and so I think it is a calling we do so in a posh location surrounded by the preps we love and trust!

Graduation Dresses!

I had to order my graduation cap and gown today, which now has gotten me thinking about graduation dresses! Unfortunately our gowns will be black, which I’m not entirely thrilled about because in high school we got to wear white and it looked much prettier. I always prefer white, especially after Memorial day. Nevertheless, my dress underneath will just have to make up for it! Cornell graduation is Memorial Day weekend, and I cannot wait for the festivities and spring weather. As cold as it is during the harsh Ithaca winters, the late springtime is always beautiful and perfect for frolicking around in sundresses! I’m really looking forward to that weekend, and from what I can tell it looks like I will be needing three daytime and two evening outfits (dresses). The dress I wear Sunday for graduation ceremony will be the most special, and for that I’m thinking about one of the Jacqueline style dresses last season. Of course, it will be a Lilly! I’ve always loved the white Jacqueline that originally started the whole Jackie trend upon its appearance in Vogue last year, and I’ve even been lucky enough to track one down. The dress is very hard to come by, but the seller is asking quite a pretty penny, so I’ll have to think long and hard about whether it might not be better to wear a dress from this year’s Jubilee collection. Around this same time last spring, my brother was graduating from high school, and I loved wearing Jacqueline Lillys to his events because they were quite versatile and a fresh twist on classic, which is exactly my style. Here are some pictures from Justin’s graduation, and I’m also posting some Lilly dresses I didn’t buy last year but still love and now am considering for my upcoming events. A Call for Help!

Does anyone have ANY advice for how to get one step closer to getting a ticket for the Martha Stewart Lilly show? This magical marriage of my two favorite passions is just two weeks away now, and I'm absolutely dying to be part of the experience. Winning Gold Jubilees tickets have already been found at Tickled Pink and the Pink Crab, the two Lilly stores nearby. Congratulations to Amy Favoupoulos and Natalie Breese, I hope you have a wonderful time! I don't think LHQ would send more than one winning ticket to the same store, yet nonetheless 29 golden tickets remain! Aside from that, there must be hundreds of audience members for the show, and there are two tapings at 10am and 2pm. The Martha Stewart website will not allow ticket requests to the March 11 show, but does anyone know if standby tickets will be available two hours before the show? Would it be worth going on the off-chance? If anyone else feels similar frustrations or has any insider information, I'd love you to share it with me!
